The Mission: To blend beauty with philanthropy through RUNWAY: Perspectives 2015, to be held on September 10 in the Amy and Richard Lipeles Auditorium at the Alpert Jewish Community Center, 3801 E. Willow in Long Beach. The blending begins at 5:00 p.m. with a mixer where signature cocktails will be served alongside delicious gourmet bites and nibbles prepared by TGIS Catering. At 6:30 p.m., guests are seated for an entertaining and informative session on today’s hot fashion topics, presented to the audience in a segmented, talk-show format. These segments include an interview with Jennifer Cohen, leading fitness authority, TV personality, and author of the best-seller “Strong is the New Skinny”; a “Before and After” segment transforming 3 Lucy women via hair, make-up, and clothing; a segment featuring professional models who demonstrate “The 10 Must-Haves for Your Wardrobe and How to Make Them Work for You.” Veteran fashion writer Bonnie McCarthy will serve as the evening’s emcee. Bonnie is the former editor of California Apparel News and Teen Magazine and a frequent contributor to the Los Angeles Times. Guests will have a chance to win opportunity drawings for a handful of exclusive one-of-a-kind experiences.
The Target: Women, ages 21-81, who are fashion, beauty, and fitness lovers, are compassionately philanthropic within their means, who like to multi-task by helping others while enjoying an evening out. They may work in Long Beach, or they likely live in the affluent zip codes of 90803, 90807, 90808, 90814, 90815, 90720, 90740, 92646, 92647, or 92648.
